Which Coolant ... ??

What type of coolant should i be using in my 6 cylinder L series engine ? ..

Sorry if its a daft question but i believe i should not be putting modern types of coolant in it, or can i ?? .... just wanna check with you guys ...

you can probably put modern in if you wanted to, its probably more important not to put old coolant in certain modern cars.

I just use normal Ethelyne Glycol based blue antifreeze.

Do note that the new types (pink, orange etc) should not be mixed with the old type (blue)
Stick with what you have in there already... as Datman says, most likely to be blue ethylene glycol...

...and replace it and flush the system through every two years or so
there's more to life than cars and girls...
there's beer too!

Old fashioned green stuff is OK, but needs to be replaced every two years, as the anti-corrosion agents get poor. If you go for red/pink longlife-coolant then be sure to thoroughly rinse all green coolant away, when mixed they can get to porridge! Anyway I would recommend at thorough rinse with a cleaning agent, there is most likely a lot of old rubbish the system. And there is one coolant which is longlife, suits all engines and can be mixed with everything: Valvoline Maxlife 8)
