Cheers Alramone

Yeh i have good days and bad days but generally my skills are improving. Its ace knowing that i can weld stuff like this up now, Ian has been a fantastic teacher. As for another project i would be up for that at some point in the future but i would want a garage to be able to tinker away in so there is never a rush to get something done before it rained! I also need my own welder !

Had a good weekend with the welder, got the sill in.....

Then closed it all up and bobs yer unkle...

Only problem is despite thinking i was avoiding too much of a heat build up i still managed to distort the main panel. Also this side is a bit amateur compared to the side Ian did but its metal now and not rust so thats the main thing.

a full two days before the friday deadline... or are you working to the saturday deadline, or just coming up the sunday?

Or if you had planned ahead you could have brought it up as it was, and it could have been RR Gathering 'WEEKEND PROJECT'???

well I didn't manage to get it to the gathering but on the plus side I have gotten most of the work done in a short space of time, deadlines are helpful like that. but here is a pic of the bits left over for the stuff I cut out over the last few months.

Image

and here is a shot of how much crud fell out of the subframe as I was taking it off! not got a pic of the subframe itself but it is knackered.

Image

and here is the reason it never got to the gathering.

Image

The subframe came from Debs joyrided car at first the subframe loked like it had survived intact but when trying to fit it it was obvious that the right side front mount was bent backwards. Bollards!

On the plus side I think I have a replacement lined up. watch this space.

Anyone know if the 100A subframe would fit onto Dave's 120A ?
If so I can have a look at my spare one for you if needed

can't see why it would be different if they're both F10, maybe the semi-auto ones had different mounting points or something but thats the only thing I can think of.
