hmmm this is not looking good.....

180b is not looking healthy.
i've noticed some oil in my radiator for a while now, no water in my oil and no exhaust gasses in my water.
so i decided to drain the oil/water mix from the cooling system and flushed it out with tap water. replaced with antifreeze/water mix.

should last a bit longer now, i thought

well 2 days later (today) i've checked on my water

hmmm thats not so good....

so, who knows any good bodges to make it last a bit longer while i figure out what to do?

headgasket was replaced just before i brought it, dunno if it's worth doing the headgasket again as it may be somthing else. cracked head etc.

personally i wouldn't bodge anything as then you have to un-bodge before fixing properly...
...and that looks pretty unbodgeable to me anyway!!

do a search--ithought there is a common problem with oil into water due to -- gasket being poorly fitted.
too much info for a simple answer.

timing cover gasket,
possibly the timing cover gasket,
or, one other thing

oh yes, the timing cover gasket.
(the waterpump pipes run through this gasket, as well as the oil pressure from the oil pump, not to mention the general crankcase area.

right...
well, been looking up how to go about doing the front cover and due to me being more interested in modifying then fixing, i've made my mind up to out the petrol lump.
i will be fitting a ld20t2 turbo diesel engine, and a 5 speed box. this should be a fairly straight forward job.
so, i will be wanting a 5 speed l series gearbox. Datman has said he has one and i will pick that up somewhen over the next few weeks.
skyline's engine swap will be put on hold, as that will be my daily driver untill the bird is done.
also means i can remove and paint the passenger door and get the front seats overhauled and fitted with electric heating :D ,while it's having a transplant.

rad stop leak did nothing. the problem was with oil getting into the water under pressure.
now if there was an "oil stop leak" i would ave tried that too.
anyways, that engine is out and now sat outside at my work
